Roger wanted to do something different – so he started laying brick pavers even though pavers were not popular back then. However, when the brick paver industry took off in the early 90’s, Roger already had years of experience installing pavers and he used this experience to build his company into the largest paver installation company in Michigan.

Not long after Roger started Soulliere Decorative Stone – his business grew so fast that he needed the help of his family. His brother, Michael joined him in 1985 as Vice President and head of their sales team. Their sister, Carol joined as their financial controller. (Michael has since retired and Carol still remains at the organization.)

Today, Soulliere Decorative Stone is a full service organization providing outdoor landscape construction and maintenance services.

• 1977 Opened construction company in Metro Detroit Area.
• 1980 Introduced brick paving to Michigan, bringing modern technology and procedures to residential and commercial projects.
• 1983 Built relationships with various landscape contractors constructing brick paver walks and patios.
• 1985 Successfully installed paver driveways and commercial paver projects.
• 1986-88 Won four consecutive national design awards.
• 1988 Opened wholesale/retail showroom with largest selection of products from all the major manufacturers.
• 1989 Added masons to our staff.  We now have some of the finest masons to construct any size job with the highest quality.
• 1990 Introduced communication procedures that consist of two-way radios, pagers, mobile phones, and fax machines.  We have a staff you can always reach to better serve our customers.
• 1991 Initiated a repair and restoration department to keep your paver job in perfect condition and repair other companies' jobs.
